Law Clinic Rostock e.V.
The Law Clinic Rostock (LCR) is a student-run organization offering legal consultations. We are dedicated to helping refugees and others struggling with legal, administrative, or organizational problems due to their legal or residential status.
Legal aid during the pandemic
We are offering consultations at the Newcomer Café (Budapester Straße 16) again. You can come by without an appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3-5 pm.
To enter the cafe, you have to be vaccinated or recovered and have a negative test no more than 24 hours old.
We will also continue to consult over the phone and zoom.
What we do
The Law Clinic Rostock (LCR) is an student-run organization offering legal consultations. Our goal is to act as an intermediary to government authorities in the complex field of migration and residence law by helping with legal, administrative, and organizational matters. We also offer help in the fields of rental and labor law.
Do you need help understand a letter from the government? Do you want someone to accompany you to an appointment? Are you by yourself because your family is far away?
We will try to help. Make an appointment with us by sending us a request throught the contact form.
Hast du Lust und Zeit dich ehrenamtlich zu engagieren? Sprichst du vielleicht sogar eine Fremdsprache? Studierst du nebenbei und möchtest gerne neben deinem Studium etwas Gutes tun?
Are you interested in volunteering with our organization? Do you speak several languages? Are you a student who wants to do some good alongside your studies?
Then you're in the right place! Send us a message and we'll invite you to one of our organizational meeting. We're always happy to welcome new volunteers.
We regularly offer interesting workshops (usually in German) on different topics. You can always find out what's happening next by clicking on the "Events" tab. Do you want to stay up to date? Check out our Instagram account, where we regularly share news.
Every year pre-pandemic, we organized trips to the administrative court in Schwerin or the international legal firm Hogan Lovells in Hamburg.
You can find information about our next excursions by clicking on the "Events" tab. You won't want to miss out on this!
Our educational program
Our yearly educational program (held in German) consists of a lecture series and workshops on different topics within the field of migration and residency law. We are privileged to benefit from lawyer Thomas Wanie's expertise and years experience.
Since the Winter Semester 2020-2021, we have also been offering a labor law program every other semester. With lawyer Laura Klaffus delivering the lectures and workshops from her and other expert, dozens of participants gain key insights into labor and rental law practices.
